Our last full day in Talbenny! We decided to make it a rest day—in other words, to not travel any long distances, and to fully enjoy this lovely cottage we’ve been gifted with.  However, after the multitude of carbs consumed yesterday, Ruth and I were in need of a long walk. So we headed to the coast path, retracing the journey Teresa and I had made a few days ago. We didn’t go as far, and the weather was completely different: a misty, moisty morning, as the old song goes. It was a wonderful way to say good-bye to this part of the world. Because it had rained in the night, the ground was muddier than on previous walks. I also discovered a leak in my hiking shoes—so, wet socks. But we made it back to the cottage in time for lunch—which Carol had concocted out of her cooking magic: roasted butternut squash with stuffing and a magnificent salad, using up some of the food we had left from this week.
